Introductory Post: Memphis and Mid-South images

This photo was taken atop the Bass Pro Pyramid with a Sony a3000 at sundown, handheld ISO 100. Click on any photo to see a larger size

This blog will show case some of the attractions, locations, points of historical interest here in Memphis and the Mid-South. I want to make these images available to encourage others to do photography as well as show all that Memphis has to offer. So this can be a go to place for Memphis photos and will also feature photography tips from time to time. I want to chronicle places, people and events as I move forward. All of these images were taken with a fairly inexpensive camera, a Sony A3000, that has an APS-C sized sensor but is mirrorless and represents a breed of camera's and lenses that are affordable and very portable. Some of these cameras can fit into a purse or a shirt pocket and still they provide very nice images.

The images below were taken at sundown and after from the top of the Bass Pro Pyramid. In the future I will feature other aspects of landscape, cityscape and portrait photography in and around Memphis.

The sundown photos were taken handheld at ISO 100 but the night images were taken on a tripod with a much slower shutter speed. That is what causes the light trails on the bridge and the city streets. If you click on any of the photos you can view a larger size and scroll through them.
